How to add a signature to a PDF

Add an image of your signature or stamp to a PDF document — straight in the browser, without printing and scanning the whole page.

Open the PDF editor

To sign a PDF visually, prepare a signature image in PNG or JPG format (for example a scan or photo of your signature on a white background). In Local PDF Editor you place that image on the page and then move and scale it into position.

The whole operation happens locally in your browser — the document is not uploaded to a server. It is a convenient way to add a signature to a contract, application or form.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the signature imageSave your signature as a PNG or JPG file — for example a scan or photo on a light background.
  2. Load the PDF and pick the imageOpen the document in the editor, choose the Image tool and select your signature file.
  3. Place the signature on the pageClick a spot on the page, then move and scale the signature image where it should go.
  4. Download the signed PDFDownload the document with the signature image for 5 PLN including VAT, or use an access code.

How to prepare a signature image

Use a PNG or JPG cropped close to the signature. A light, even background and clear contrast make it easier to fit the image into the document. Resizing in the editor preserves the image proportions.

Signature image versus digital signature

The inserted image is a graphic element in the PDF. It has no certificate, does not verify identity and cannot prove document integrity. The app does not create qualified or other digital signatures.

Which signature image formats are supported?

You can select a PNG or JPEG/JPG file. The editor does not accept SVG, HEIC or cryptographic signature files.

Is this an electronic or digital signature?

The app only inserts an image and does not assess its legal effect. It does not create a digital signature, certificate or identity-verification mechanism.
